Squad structure

The club's squad structure has been developed to provide a clear structure of progression for each child in the club.

Upon joining the club each member will be assessed and placed in the appropriate squad. Definitions of each squad are as follows:

SQUAD NAME: FROGGY 1/2/3

Children swimming in the teaching pool at Morden will progress from FROGGY 1 to FROGGY 2 to FROGGY 3. Children in FROGGY 3 who have reached the required level will then move to the Nemo widths squad.
FROGGY squad members will be working towards improving their strokes and will be rewarded with distance badges and certificates.

SQUAD NAME: NEMO/MANTA-RAY/SHARKS

Children swimming widths at Cheam will progress from NEMO to MANTA-RAY to SHARKS. Children in SHARKS who have reached the required level will then move to the Bronze length squad.
NEMO/MANTA-RAY/SHARK squad members will also be working towards stroke improvement and awarded distance badges and certificates.

QUAD NAME: BRONZE/SILVER/GOLD

Children swimming lengths will progress from BRONZE to SILVER to GOLD and be asked to swim at least twice a week at these sessions to progress up to the next squad level. Children in GOLD squad who have reached the required level will then move into the JUNIOR SQUAD and finally into the TOP SQUAD.
BRONZE/SILVER/GOLD squad members will be assessed regularly on their strokes and be awarded Stroke Award Certificates as well as distance badges and certificates.

SQUAD NAME: JUNIOR/TOP

Children who are in the JUNIOR and TOP squads will be asked to swim 3 or more times a week.
JUNIOR and TOP squad members will be working toward s competing for Cheam Marcuda at Wey B, Octopus and Rother League Galas and in the Arena National League. They will also be encouraged to take part in Open Meets.
